Life Since High School

From 2000: I have never changed my name, although in 1982 I married Roy Bossen, NTW Class of 1969. Roy is a health care attorney with Hinshaw & Culbertson in Chicago. We have one child, Morris David (Morrie) Bossen, born March 27, 1990.

After a twenty-plus year career in the high tech industry (including jobs with IBM in Poughkeepsie, NY, a couple of years in Boston, and Wang Labs in Chicago), I left my job with ARDIS (a nationwide wireless data network headquartered in Lincolnshire, IL) in June 1999 to pursue a Golden Apple Foundation/Northwestern University alternative certification program to be a teacher in the Chicago Public Schools.

So here I am back in high school! But not New Trier this time - I'm teaching Math and Computer Science at Von Steuben Metro Science Center in Albany Park. It is incredibly time-consuming, but at least I'm not traveling.

Our son Morrie is in 4th grade at Decatur Classical School, a magnet program in the Chicago Public School System.

Since 1983 we've lived in an old house in the Lincoln Square neighborhood (not far from Von Steuben), which we've renovated from top to bottom. However, still no garage.
